Here we have a very nice Scottish flintlock overcoat pistol, with an impressive 0. 66 inch "Man Stopping" bore. This definitely would have given the user quite a kick when fired. It is marked on the lock by maker THOMSON EDINBURGH, and also marked MAKER TO HIS MAJESTY on the top of the barrel. We believe this to be John Thomson, who worked from 1816 1827 in Edinburgh.
